The Mobile Institute was born out of the new MA in Arts & Ecology at Dartington College of Arts. The course was designed to bring together practitioners from diverse arts and ecology backgrounds to work together in an interdisciplinary way. This proved to be a very successful and productive way of working. As graduates from the course the lead artists intend to continue this practice with the added dimension of now living in different regions. It is a common experience for artists to form connections through ideas rather than geographic locations and it is with this in mind that the Institutes events will occur across regions and will act as a way of uniting artists and their practices thus contributing to current debate within both the arts and wider society.
